Distribution of relief materials by HYPPADEC in Niger.

  

The Hydro Electric Power Producing Areas Development Commission HYPPADEC has flagged off the distribution of relief materials to over eight thousand household affected by flood in parts of Niger state.

Flagging off the distribution exercise at New Ketso resettlement site in Mokwa local government council , Managing Director HYPPADEC Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa said the distribution is going on simultaneously in all the six HYPPADEC member states in Nigeria.

Represented by the Director Operation HYPPADEC Engineer Ilyasu Abdullahi Wara, said  the gesture is part of efforts by the commission to alleviate sufferings of its members to improve their living standard.

He said items to be distributed to include one trailer load of rice , one thousand blankets , five thousand mosquito nets , one cartons of soap, one hundred bundles of zinc, three thousand mattresses and fifteen million naira cash among others.

Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa however said the distribution of relief materials will continue until all affected persons are captured in Niger state and other five member states.

He appealed to beneficiaries of the relief materials to ensure judicious utilisation of the items for maximum benefits.

One of the benificiaries Malama Amina Muazu from Ketso village thanked the agency for such laudable gesture and called for the construction of additional toilets at new Ketso resetlement site to ease their hardship.
