Nigerian Police has promised provision of Water tide security before, during and after the 2023 general elections in Kaduna State.


The State Commissioner of Police Yekini Adio Ayoku mentioned this while speaking to the Executive members of the Nigerian Union of Journalists NUJ on a courtesy call in his office.


He said the country was in a critical period and the Nigerian Police was committed to being professional in it’s conduct for smooth operations.


The commissioner urged media professionals to provide the police with adequate and timely feedback on relevant activities and happenings to enhance performance in all ramifications profitable to Nigerians.


Mr. Yekini Adio Ayoku advised parents to warn their wards and children against thuggery as the full wrath of the law would be unleashed on anybody caught violating the laws of the country.


He pledged stronger collaboration with the NUJ and called on it’s members especially those operating online platforms not to write stories that seems to be glorifying activities of bandits or terrorists who are doing all they could to retard national peace and progress.


Earlier, Kaduna State Chairman of the NUJ Hajiya Asma’u Yawo Halilu said the Union had members who have excell in their professional callings and were ready to collaborate with the Nigeria Police to achieve success.


According to her the state Council under her leadership has recorded huge successes since coming on board in December last year and is working towards collaborating with established institutions to consolidate on the gains and also enhance the activities of Journalists and the journalism profession in general.
