Vehicular movement is at a stand still at the local and international airports in Lagos state, as the National Association of Nigeria Students NANS, protest the continued stay at home of students due to the Academic Staff Union of University, ASUU strike.

All access roads into the airports have been condoned off by the students around the hajj and cargo terminal and the road leading into the International airport terminal.

They defied the rain, chanting solidarity songs to register their anger over the failure of the Federal Government and ASUU to reach a truce on the demands of the lecturers.

The airport roads and toll gates are deserted, the usual hustle and bustle that characterized the airport environment was no longer there.

Staff of the various agencies, at the airport could not access their offices, while students of the airport secondary school are also affected.

Many air passengers are currently stranded on the roads.

Meanwhile, the security agencies such as the police, Civil defence corps are on ground to prevent the break down of law and order.

The traffic situation in Lagos metropolis on Mondays has been compounded by the protest, as it has extended to the Ajao Estate area to Oshodi, the local airport to Ikeja under the bridge, and the Agege motor road, spilling over to other roads linked to these axis.
