Kwara State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to continue to wage war against malnutrition among women and vulnerable groups in the state.
The State Commissioner for Finance, Mrs Oyeyemi Florence , stated this during the state committee meeting to unveil a policy document on food and nutrition in Ilorin.
Oyeyemi said the present administration came up with the policy document and a multi sectoral plan of actions to effectively stem the cases of stunted growth that hampers the physical and mental fitness of children.
She said the step was borne out of the political will of the state government to ensure better well-being of the downtrodden in the state.
The Commissioner urged members of the committee to dedicate themselves to the realization of the policy document that is targeted at eradicating malnutrition in the state.
Earlier in his address , the Chairman state committee on food and nutrition, Dr. Yakub Jaja commended the state government for being passionate about the welfare of the less privileged.
