The Federal government has approved the appointment of Professor Wahab Egbewole SAN as the Vice Chancellor of University of Ilorin in Kwara state.

Announcing the appointment at the University of Ilorin Council Chamber ,the Pro – Chancellor and Chairman of Council of the University, Mallam Abidu Yazid said Professor Egbewole selection was done after rigorous procedure.

He said the selection was carried out in accordance with the provisions of the University of Ilorin Act, CAP U7 law of the federation.

Mallam Yazid explained that Professor Egbewole was selected out of the thirteen shortlisted applicants.

He said the newly appointed Vice Chancellor will take over from the incumbent VC, Professor Sulyman Age Abdulkareem whose tenure will end on 15th of October, this year.

Mallam Yazid urged the new Vice Chancellor to use his wealth of experience in International Law and Jurisprudence to fulfill the vision and mission of the University.
