Poultry Farmers in Zango Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State have been implored to imbibe the best and legitimate practices in rearing their birds.
Chairman of Council Francis Sani Zimbo represented by a staff of the Veterinary Department, Dr. Shedrach Andrew made this known at training for poultry farmers in the area.
Francis Sani Zimbo said the training provided an opportunity for the farmers to perfect their poultry skills so that they would be able to make more profit.
In a remark, the Coordinator Poultry Association of Nigeria, Kaduna Zone three Ziriok Joshua lamented that the high cost of feeds had affected the rearing of poultry products in Nigeria.
He however stressed the need for an improved way of rearing birds which the training had provided, for the farmers to attract the right market.
The convener, Adalchi Bahuyak who appreciated Zango Kataf Local Government council for supporting the training said it would help poultry farmers to boost productivity and the income accruing from the business.
The training was supported by the Kaduna State Ministry of Agriculture and Veterinary Department, Zango Kataf Local Government Area, Zkig and Olam Poultry and Feeds.
