Zamfara State Spends N93m Counterpart Fund To UNICEF Projects

United Nations Children Education’s Fund, UNICEF Projects have impacted positively toward the development of education in Zamfara state.

The State’s Executive Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board SUBEB, Alhaji Abubakar Aliyu Maradun disclosed this when the UNICEF and it media team paid him a courtesy visit in his office.

He said the role and impact of UNICEF in Zamfara state can not be overemphasize especially in the area of Education.

Alhaji Aliyu Maradun further explained that, the present administration of Governor Bello Muhammad had paid ninety three million naira (93 million naira) as counterparts funding to various UNICEF Education intervention projects in the state.

Sparking earlier, the UNICEF team leader, Alhaji Mayasa said the visit aimed to notify the board that, UNICEF and its media team would make a field tour to some selected schools in three local government areas of the state to access the UNICEF projects.

Responding, the State Coordinator, UNICEF Media Team, Comrade Ishaq Zaki Tambuwal said the familiarization visit to the SUBEB Chairman was to intimate him and the board management about the mandates of the team and also seek support from the media towards the development of Education in the state.
