The need for continuous engagement and peaceful dialogue among adherents of different religious beliefs in the country has been advocated.

The Senior Pastor of Evangelical Church of Winning All-ECWA Lemu Road Kaduna, Reverend Joshua Anyam stated this during it’s Annual Friend’s Day Celebration with their Muslim community.

Reverend Joshua Anyam appealed to both christians and Muslim amongst others to work towards forging a common goal against the enemy of unity in the country.

“We must understand, respect, and protect our differences rather than allowing division because all of us are facing similar challenges in our various groups or religion”, he said.

He expressed satisfaction with the level of response gotten from the Muslim community whenever there was the need to talk on peace and related issues ,adding that it was in the interest of all to live in peace and harmony.

In a remark, the Executive Secretary Sultan Bello mosque and Chief Imam Sadauna Mosque Kawo, Sheik Hamisu Ya’u called on religious leaders not to allow politicians bring politics to the mosque or church.

Sheik Hamisu Ya’u said both religion must respect one another and consider the humanity of each other first, rather than bringing to fore the religion we both practice, considering that we were created by the same God.

He admitted that only the Devil was the enemy of all religions, hence the need for unity to fight the common enemy, saying that without peace there would be no form of development.

Other Islamic clerics who shared their thoughts agreed that there was no basis for why Christians and Muslims should fight one another rather than being each other’s keepers, explaining that one cannot be a good Muslim if one doesn’t like his Christian neighbours and vice versa.

Also Speaking, the Christian Solidarity Worldwide -CSW represented by Mr Reuben Buhari advised that it was in our best interest to live together peacefully, hence the need to allow everyone practice his/her religion without intimidation of any kind.

Mr Reuben Buhari reiterated that we will achieve more when we unite and do things together rather than stay apart and suffer the consequences of disunity.

Similarly, in a Sermon, the Preacher Mr Zack Bungwon spoke on the coming of Jesus Christ, explaining that the lack of fellowship among one another was the major cause of the most crisis, hence the need for both Christians and Muslims to focus on what binds them together than what separates them.

Radio Nigeria reports that, In attendance during the Friend’s Day Celebration are the District Head of Barnawa ,Alhaji Kabiru Zubairu, the Wakilin Shehu Borno, HRH Bata Madaki Auta and Sarkin Dutse Alhaji Shuaibu Balarebe Abdullahi among others.
