Minister of Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola, has advocated additional fund on the ongoing highway projects in the country for timely completion of the works.

Mr Babatunde Fashola made the call while defending the ministry’s 2021 budget proposal before the House of Representatives committee on Works in Abuja.

The minister explained that request for increased funding for the projects was necessary in view of the damages and distraction caused by natural disasters, climate change as well as an unforseen events.

He further appealed for timely release of funds for the projects under the amended 2020 budget to clear the outstanding payments and concentrate on the new phases.

Mr Fashola, maintained that the House intervention towards improved payment would no doubt assist address the critical situation of federal road networks and boost socio economic activities.
