Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board says the first batch of intending pilgrims for this year’s hajj will be airlifted to the kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the 23rd of June 2022.

The Director Oprations of the board, Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo disclosed this in an interview with Radio Nigeria in Dutse, the state capital.

He explained that a total of 744 pilgrims would perform this year’s hajj exercise and were to be airlifted from Dutse International Airport to Saudi Arabia.

According to him, the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria has allocated 614 seats to the board,130 was a special allocation and those deposited their Hajj fare in Jaiz Bank.

Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo said the Jigawa government had approved the old building of the Central Bank of Nigeria CBN to the state pilgrims board as a Hajj camp.

He noted that stakeholders which include NAHCON officials, Police, NDLEA, Customs, and NSCDC among others had already inspected the CBN building in Dutse while urging intending pilgrims to ensure they were being fully immunised against Covid 19 viruses.

Ahmed Umar Labbo also reminded the pilgrims to pray for peace, unity and progress in Nigeria while at the holy land.

In an interview, the Director Admin and Finance who is also the Acting Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Mustapha Umar Babura advised the intending pilgrims to follow laid down rules and regulations of the kingdom of Saudi Arabia and admonished them on acts capable of tarnishing the image of the state and the country in general.

Alhaji Mustapha Umar Babura commended the state Governor for the support and cooperation given to the board towards a hitch free hajj exercise at all times.
