Police has confirmed the arrest of a member of outlawed group, popularly know as “Yansakai” with human body part in Zurmi local government area in Zamfara State.
This was contained in a statement signed and made available to journalists in Gusau by Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Mohammed Shehu, who said the suspect was arrested by the joint Police and Military Operatives on Anti+Banditry Operation along Dauran – Zurmi axis.
SP Shehu noted that, preliminary investigation revealed that, the suspect Jabiru Ibrahim ‘m’ of Dauran Village in Zurmi local government area was among the members of the outlawed group (Yansakai) who have been terrorising members of Dauran Community through jungle justice leading to reprisal attacks by Bandits terrorists against the Innocent people.
The PPRO said, in the course of interrogation, the suspect confessed that, himself and other three members of his gang who were now at large carried out the gruesome killing of one Abdullah a Fulani by tribe and later the suspect removed the right hand of the deceased.
SP Shehu added that, investigation is in progress with a view to arresting other partners of the suspect in the crime and to unravel the circumstances of their action before been changed to court for prosecution.
