Stakeholders in the educational sector have been charged to put mechanisms to protect children in school environment.

The proprietor of a private school in Kaduna Dr. Lydia Umar stated this during the commemoration of this year’s children’s day in Kaduna.

Dr. Lydia Umar said recent happenings shows that most molestation of children are perpetrated by familiar persons in schools and homes hence the need for parents to always monitor the movement and activities of their children and care givers.

She highlighted other areas of concern to include negative threats from the social media and entertainment industry where they emulate entertainers as role models.

“those are the agencies that impact on their minds, on their emotions. There is a lot of abuse going on even online.”
