House of Representatives has passed the police salary increase by ₦182b.

Chairman, House committee on appropriation, Mukhtar Betra stated this while briefing newsmen on the amendment to the Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) as requested by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Mr Betra explained that with this and the increase of the oil benchmark from $62 to $73 per barrel, the budget now is seventeen trillion, three hundred and nineteen billion, seven hundred and four million naira.

The House also approved the reduction in crude oil production quota from 1.8million barrels per day to 1.6 million barrels per day.

It also approved a cut in the provision for Federally Funded upstream projects being implemented by the federal government by about ₦200 billion from ₦352.80 billion.
