Former Military President General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida says he is in full support of the idea of consensus presidential candidate for People’s Democratic Party PDP in the twenty twenty three general elections.
He said this would helped to make the party more purposeful formidable and result oriented.
General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida stated this when he received at his Hilltop residence Minna the Governor of Sokoto state Barr Aminu Waziri Tambuwal and Bauchi state Governor Senator Bala Mohammed led by the former Senate President Senator Bukola Saraki on a consultation visit.
General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida however assured them that he will support any move that will enhance the unity of People’s Democratic Party PDP and by extension Nigeria in addition to achieving a prosperous country through consensus candidate.
The former Military President would also want them to consider the interest of Nigeria above personal ambition to achieve maximum results.
Leader of the team and former Senate President Senator Bukola Saraki told General Babangida that they were in his residence to consult him over concensus presidential candidate for PDP towards ensuring a peaceful and rancour free convention.
According to him Nigeria need a leader with the desire ti fast track it’s development and therefore need to get the support and blessings of an elderstatesman like former military president General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida inview of his pedegree.
Senator Bukola Saraki also condoled with Nigerians over the unfortunate pains they are going through as regards to insecurity bedeviling the country.
