Federal Government says no one has been chosen as the best bidder for Nigeria Air, the country’s main airline.

Director of Public Affairs at the Ministry of Aviation, Dr James Odaudu stated this in a statement on Wednesday that the clarification was necessary because some people have been pushing specific organizations that competed for the airline.

In the wake of the release of the Request for Proposal, he said a similar report, published in both local and international media, was untrue and had the potential to discredit and discourage interested companies from participating in the process.

He emphasized that transparency and accountability have been the guiding principles and will continue to be so till the project was completed.

He stated that no business organization or individual has been chosen, selected, or even preferred for the project because the selection process has only just begun with the Request for Proposal.

Dr Odaudu said that the main reason is the government’s promise to leave Nigeria a national carrier that people can be proud of.

Their determination and commitment to it is strong, he emphasized.
