A head on collision has claimed 12 lives at Tsamawa village, Garun Malam local government area Kano.

The public relations officer of Kano state fire service, Saminu Yusif Abdullahi confirmed the incident to newsmen.

FIRE MEN EVACUATING BODIES FROM THE VEHICLE

According to him, the two commercial vehicles involved,a hiace bus conveying 11 passengers from zaria to Kano, collided with a J5 travelling from Kano to Kaduna.

The public relations officer explained that,the accident triggered a fire which burnt both vehicles to ashes including the passengers.

As at time of filing these report, the plate numbers of the vehicles and victims are yet to be identified due to the effects of the fire.

“Our fire station at Kura recieved an emergency call from Isah Mai Fetur,on arrival our men discovered that two vehicles have collided leading to the death of 12 people”

Saminu Yusif pointed out that,lack of compliance to traffic rules and regulations, is the major cause of the accident.

He charged the general public whose friends and relatives have travelled on that route, to contact the Kano state fire service for proper identification of the victims.

“I will seize this opportunity to call on vehicle users to drive with care and abide by traffic rules to avoid road accident”

Radio Nigeria Reports that, in January 2022, a ghastly road accident claimed three lives and injured 17 people at Gamoji Town in Gaya local government area Kano.
