Emir of Dutse Dr Nuhu Muhammadu Sanusi has urged youths to join hands in the campaign against global warming and other environmental degradation threatening to destabilize human existence on the earth.
The Emir made the called when a youth group of foundation for societal development and good governance in Jigawa state paid him a courtesy visit in his palace.
According to him, the perennial flooding, that kills people in the state and other parts of the world is one of the adverse effect of global warming emanating from indiscriminate felling of trees, bush burning and other abuse of ecosystem.
Dr Nuhu Muhammadu Sunusi explained that, youth has a major role to play particularly on public enlightenment against any acts capable of causing global warming and other forms of environmental degradation in the society.
He charged the youth as leaders of tomorrow to abide by good norms and values of the society and shun any acts that may portray them as irresponsible and unreliable in the society.
Earlier, the chairman of the foundation Mallam Ya’u Muhammad said, the foundation focus on promoting good governance and public participation in democratic system.
Ya’u added that, the foundation enlighten youth on the menace of drug abuse, corruption and other social vices that are causing social unrest to individual and society.
