The Executive Secretary of the Scheme, Alhaji Kamilu Aliyu

Jigawa State and Local Government Contributory Pension Scheme has paid over 498 million Naira as terminal  benefits for three categories of workers in the month of November.

The Executive Secretary of the Scheme, Alhaji Kamilu Aliyu stated this while briefing newsmen at Pension House Dutse, the state capital. 

According to him, over 498 million, 467 thousand Naira was paid which include retirement and death benefits and refund of 8% contribution.

He further explained that death pension balance had also been paid to the beneficiaries.

Alhaji Kamilu Aliyu Musa added that the beneficiaries were workers of the state government, local government and local education authority. 

He noted that 163 Staff retired from service and  33 who died in service as well as pensioners would be paid their entitlements of over 479 million Naira.

The Executive Secretary said 30 local government staff would also receive over 46 million naira as their benefits.

According to him, 78 staff of Local government education authority would receive over 175 million Naira.

Kamilu Aliyu Musa pointed out that 19 beneficiaries would also receive over 18 million naira as death pension balance while 4 beneficiaries from the state would also receive refund of 8 percent contribution of over 564 thousand Naira.

The Pension Boss therefore, commended Governor Badaru Abubakar for the support and cooperation given to the board at all times in the state.

Kamilu added that, the board does not extort money from anybody in processing payment to the beneficiaries.

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to Radio Nigeria commended the pension boss and the state for the gesture.
