The National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency says it’s winning the fight against drug abuse in Kano state.

The Commander of the agency in Kano Isa Likita Mohammad stated this while briefing Journalist in Kano.

He said with the commitment and dedication of the dogged personnel of the Agency and Collaboration with the general populace, the menace of drug was reducing drastically in Kano state.

Isa Likita Mohammad noted that the agency was able to aprehended over 176 persons for various drug abuse offences which comprise of both males and females .

” within the quarter under review there were drug demand reduction activities , the NDLEA is working asidiously in the aspect of Rehabilitation drug users ,so that they will repent and live a healthy life”

He Applauded the support and cooperation of all the security agencies in Kano in the fight against Drug Abuse.

” We have a joint taskforce here in Kano which includes all relevant security Agencies that are involved in the curbing of drug abuse which are working together with our agency, and we’ve Suceeded in reducing the ranking of Kano state from number one interms of drug abuse to Number Six”

The Commander maintained that the Kano command of NDLEA has restructured its activities in the State which was yielding positive results in the fight against drug abuse.

He further stated that the command had also raided places that were notorious as blackspots were drug abuse activities normally take place.

The NDLEA boss appealed to the general populace not to relent in their efforts of availing the command with the necessary information to help curtail the menace.
