2021/2022 Session: KDSG Reopens Schools In Phases

Kaduna State Ministry of Education has directed all School Principals to make arrangements to receive JSS1, JSS2, SS1 & SS2 Boarding Students on Sunday, 12th September 2021 while Day Students on Monday 13th September 2021 for a period of fourteen weeks for the term.

In a statement by the State Commissioner for Education, Dr Shehu Usman Mohammed says Primary one to six are to resume on the 27th September, 2021 for a period twelve (12) weeks for the term.

According to the Statement, all administrators and Proprietors of Public and Private Schools and other learning centres including Islamiyya and Madrasas are to set up School based Security Committees and ensure safety of students in school.

“The Kaduna State Government has approved the release of the school Calendar for 1st Term of the 2021/2022 academic year to enable schools to re-open for the term in phases as the 1st Phase of the resumption are already in school writing exams”

It says all schools Management should inculcate Safe School Learning Initiatives as directed by the Federal Ministry of Education.

The statement explains that, Members of the School Security Committee are to ensure proper monitoring of security apparatuses in place and prompt security alertness in case of any security threat.

The Commissioner who appreciated the support of all stakeholders in the education sector, security agencies, parents, guardians and media called on them not to relent in ensuring safer learning environments for all learners at all levels in the state.

The Ministry also expresses its profound gratitude to the general public for their resilience, understanding and continuous support during this trying period.
