Kaduna State Government has appealed to the Nigerian Army to deploy special troops along Kaduna – Kachia – Kafanchan roads to deal with bandits and other criminals perpetrating crimes in the axis.

The State Deputy Governor, Dr Hadiza Balarabe made the plea when the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya visited her at government house Kaduna.

Dr Hadiza Balarabe explained that, initially the security challenges was along kaduna – Abuja highway, stressing that, due to the presence of troops on the axis, kidnapping and banditry has moved around kaduna- kachia – Kafanchan axis.

Dr Hadiza Balarabe said the deployment of troops would go along way in reducing security challenges and also make the people feel more safe when they are traveling from kaduna to Kafanchan.

“I will just say that, we being lucky so far to have the leadership of Operation Save Heaven for putting in their best to secure especially the southern part of the State, we have a relative peace until recently when the crisis in Zango kataf started again and that has been the major issue that we have to handle even with the fact that, there has been so many peace deal sign at that local government”.

She also called for the deployment of more troops to Zangon Kataf following the recent situation that was happening in the area.

Dr. Hadiza Balarabe thanked the Nigerian Army for the ongoing efforts to tackle banditry and other criminal activities in the State, while calling for more deployment of troops to strengthen the ongoing efforts.

In a remark, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Farouk Yahaya said they were in Kaduna for Seminar of the Senior Army officers which is aimed at strategising their activities, also appreciated Kaduna government for all the support and contribution to the Army.

Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya said all the challenges has been outlined and promised to adopt more strategies and measures to achieve the desire objectives.

He emphasised the need for the government not to relent in supporting the military to achieve success in carry out it’s operation.
