Kaduna State Deputy Governor

Kaduna State government is making arrangements to set up a structure for nurturing and mentoring talents identified across the state to build their skills and expand their horizon in the sports industry. 

The Deputy Governor, Dr Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe stated this while declaring open the 6th Kaduna Sports Festival at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna.

Dr Hadiza Balarabe said the overall objective was to create a platform that would enable young players from Kaduna to find space at the National and Global sporting stage.

She pointed out that, skills development was an integral part of Human Capital Development, to which the state Government attached so much importance.

According to Dr Hadiza,  the State Government  had instituted a special scholarship for those who excel in sports to enable them pursue or advance their education. 

She reaffirmed commitment towards exploring all development options available to uplift the sports sector due to its significance and the great potential it has to offer.

 The Deputy Governor noted that the annual competition would serve as a platform to identify and develop talents, as well as select stars that would represent Kaduna State in National Sports Festivals. 

Also speaking, Kaduna State Commissioner for Sport Development, Professor Kabiru Mato assured of justice and equity for all participants during the festival.

The Kaduna State Sports Festival has attracted over 2000 participants from the 23 Local Government  Areas of the state, to compete in 26 sporting activities.
