President Muhammadu Buhari has called on Nigerians not to panic following outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country.

According to a statement by his spokesman, Garba Shehu, President Buhari encourage Nigerians to pay attention to all preventive measures offered by relevant bodies, especially the Ministry of Health, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and the World Health Organization.

The President says giving in to scary and threatening messages will cause more harm than good to national consciousness.

President Buhari however commends the Federal Ministry of Health and relevant agencies whose diligence led to detection of the index case that has been diagnosed and isolated.
