The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board says it has requested an additional allocation of Hajj seats from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) for intending pilgrims for the 2027 Hajj.

The Director General of the Board, Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo, stated this in Dutse, the state capital.

He explained that the Board had already completed the sale and registration of its allocated seats.

According to him, the Board’s registration officials ensured that all eligible intending pilgrims were accurately captured on the e-registration platform.

He said the progress recorded during the exercise underscored the Board’s commitment to delivering a well-organised, transparent, and efficient registration process for pilgrims from the state.

Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo added that the Board has formally requested additional seat allocation from NAHCON to accommodate the overwhelming demand from intending pilgrims across the state.

He also pointed out that the registration portal for passport data capture is currently closed, noting that the Forum of State Hajj Chairmen has appealed to NAHCON to reopen it.

Labbo expressed optimism that NAHCON will approve the Forum’s request to allow more intending pilgrims to complete their documentation.

The Pilgrims Board boss also commended the staff of the Board for their dedication and hard work in the discharge of their duties.

He therefore called on the 2027 intending pilgrims to rely only on official information from the Board to guard against misinformation.

On behalf of the Board, Labbo extended condolences to NAHCON over the death of its staff at the Kano Zonal Office, Late Alhaji Salisu Gaya, who passed away on Friday, 11th September, 2026.
