The Supreme Council of the Tijaniyya Islamic Movement has condoled President Bola Tinubu over the passing of the late Islamic scholar and former leader of the Tijaniyya Movement in Nigeria, Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi.
The delegation, comprising representatives from Algeria, Nigeria and Senegal, also prayed for the President and Nigeria during a visit to the State House, Abuja.
The delegation, representing the global Tijaniyya community, included members of the Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi Foundation led by Khalifa Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi.
The Khalifa of Tijaniyya from Algeria, Sheikh Ali Bin Arabi, conveyed the council’s condolence message to President Tinubu and prayed for enduring peace, unity and prosperity in Nigeria, as well as good health for the President.
Sheikh Ali Bin Arabi also reaffirmed the longstanding spiritual relationship between Nigeria and Algeria and pledged continued prayers for stronger ties between the two countries.
Responding, President Tinubu thanked the delegation for the condolence visit and described the late Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi as a revered religious leader whose contributions to Islam and national development would remain enduring.
