Niger State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp NSCDC has said that the killing of its personnel by hoodlums at an illegal mining site in Korokpa village will not deter it from discharging it’s constitutional responsibility of protecting lives and properties of people in the state and safeguarding the Federal Government critical assets.

The Corp Image Maker, Deputy Superintendent of Corp DSC, Mohammed Rabiu Muti who stated this in an interview with Radio Nigeria in Minna, expressed sadness over the unfortunate loss of its gallant officer Assistant Superintendent of Corp, Aminu Eshin.

Deputy Superintendent of Corp Mohammed Rabi’u Muti who said they are mourning the death of their colleague, explained that a committee set up by the Commandant Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corp Niger state Command, Suberu Siyaka Aniviye to investigate the incident has swung into action with full swing.

According to him many suspects have been arrested in connection to the incident while some traditional rulers were invited for questioning to keep the record straight.

DSC Mohammed Rabi’u Multi, however explained that though investigations were ongoing but the outcome of the committee set up to investigate the killing of one of its personnel would be made public by the State Commandant Suberu Siyaka Aniviye soon after the committee completed its assignment, so that those found wanting will be made to face the full wrath of the law.

He added that Mining Marshals that have been trained to combat illegal mining and ensure strict enforcement will continue to discharge their duties diligently without fear or favour to achieve the desired objective of a peaceful society.
