Governor Mohammed Umar Bago of Niger State has commiserated with the Niger State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC over the death of one of its officers, Aminu Eshin who was killed during an attack at an illegal mining site in Korokpa village.
The Governor in a condolence message through his Chief Press Secretary Bologi Ibrahim described the incident as disheartening.
Umaru Bago expressed his distraught with the demise of such a promising young officer who died in the process of protecting the interest of his fatherland.
The Governor also extends his deepest condolences to both the immediate and extended families of the slain officer and prays that Allah forgives his shortcomings on earth and grants him entry into Aljannat Firdaus.
He however directed the Security Agencies to fish out the perpetrators of the crime and reassured people of Niger state that justice must prevail.
Governor Umar Bago warned illegal miners to desist from such act as the State Government ban on illegal mining is still in force and that anyone caught will be made to face the full wrath of the law.
