The Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union,(IEDPU) has expressed satisfaction with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s approval for the creation of the 9 Division of the Nigerian Army, with its headquarters in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.

In a statement, the National Publicity Secretary of the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union, Mallam Suleiman Shuaib -Dagbo, on behalf of the National President of the Union, Alhaji Abdulmumini Ayo Abdulmalik, says the development will be of great benefit to the people of Kwara, Niger States and the nation in general.

Alhaji Abdulmalik, thanked the Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for working with the Presidency and other stakeholders to attract the Division to Ilorin.

He congratulated the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, and the good people of Ilorin Emirate as well as Kwara State on the new security outfit.

Alhaji AbdulMalik, noted that the creation of the Army Division in Ilorin would enhance the security of life and property of the people of the State.

The community leader equally thanked President Tinubu as well as Governor AbdulRazaq for the recent approval of the creation of an Army Battalion in Omu-Aran, the headquarters of Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.

Alhaji Abdulmalik assured the federal government and the Nigerian Army of the support of the people of Ilorin Emirate and the entire Kwara State in ensuring the smooth take-off of the newly-created Army Brigade and the Division.
