The Director General, National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu says the success of the scheme depends largely on the quality of collaboration among it’s stakeholders.

The Director General made this remark at the 2026 Edition of the NYSC Corps Employer’s Workshop held in Kaduna.

Brigadier General Nafiu who was represented by the Director, NYSC North West Area Office, Mrs. Mercy Bamai Dawuda reiterated the statutory responsibilities and policy guidelines of corps employers as provided under the NYSC Act.

He therefore urged corps employers to provide corps members with the necessary welfare, security and exposure that prepare them for future leadership.

State coordinator of the scheme, Mrs. Efeke Murna Dadaza said the essence of the workshop is to provide the needed sensitisation and identify emerging challenges that would strengthen the scheme.

The theme of this year’s workshop is “Fine-tuning Stakeholders’ Collaboration to Enhance Corps Members Welfare and Workplace Experience”.
