The Civil Defence Officers Wives Association, CDOWA, Kaduna State Chapter and the Nigerian Defence Academy Officers Wives Association, NDAOWA is partnering towards achieving peace and development intiatives.
The Duo made the commitment when the Chairperson of the Civil Defence Officers Wives Association, CDOWA Kaduna State Chapter, Mrs Victoria Panam Musa led her team to pay a courtesy visit to the Nigerian Defence Academy Officers Wives Assocation, NDAOWA, at their NDA secretariat in Kaduna.
Speaking to the Coordinator of NDAOWA, Mrs Oritseseyisan Adeola Olatoye and her team, Mrs Musa explained that the collaboration would give greater impacts to their initiative aimed at empowering their women as well as being given back to society.
“One of our aims is to contribute to National security against threats, and disaster and to promote maintenance of peace and order, and to enhance development stride, that is why our motto of CDOWA is Peace at home and Peace in the Nation”, she said.
She commended the achievements done so far by NDAOWA, particularly in the areas of skills acquisition programs that have impacted women from both the military and paramilitary as well as their immediate community and urged them to continue the good work.
While restating the efforts of the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi and his wife, who is the National President of CDOWA in ensuring the Assocation records remarkable achievements, Mrs Musa maintained that service to humanity has been the motivating force of the assocation in Kaduna and seek for greater collaboration with NDAOWA.
“I bring greetings from my president, the National President in the person of Mrs Aisha Abubakar Audi and also from the Commandant General in the person of Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi.I always acknowledge his presence because of the key role he has been playing in the welfare of officers’ wives. He has also ensured that the thirty-five per cent affirmative action is adhered to, and that is why we don’t fail to recognize him”, she said.
Responding, NDAOWA Coordinator, Mrs Oritseseyisan Adeola Olatoye appreciated the visit, saying she is delighted that some of the work done by the Assocation under her watch is been recognized and pledged to partner with CDOWA in the areas of skills acquisition and other developmental projects for the overall development of the society.
