Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board says it has received the final flight of pilgrims from Jeddah International Airport, marking the conclusion of the 2026 Hajj airlift operation.

The Director-General of the board, Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo, stated this shortly after the arrival of the last batch of pilgrims from Saudi Arabia at Nuhu Muhammadu Sunusi International Airport, Dutse.

He said the state’s pilgrims were airlifted from the Holy Land by Umza Air and arrived in Dutse on Sunday night.

According to him, the second and final flight departed Jeddah on Sunday evening with a total of 404 pilgrims on board, including the Amirul Hajj and Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Hamim Nuhu Muhammadu Sunusi, members of the State House of Assembly Hajj Committee, zonal and deputy officers, medical personnel, and members of the media team.

Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo pointed out that, the state had recorded a successful and hitch-free hajj exercise.

He commended Governor Umar Namadi for the support and cooperation given to the board during this year’s hajj operations.

Some of pilgrims who spoke to Radio Nigeria shortly after their arrival in Dutse thanked Allah for making it possible for them to perform this year’s hajj exercise.

They commended the state government and the DG of for providing them with three square meals while in Saudi Arabia.

The pilgrims also expressed satisfaction by the arrangements of preachers and commended officials of the board for taking good care of them in Madina and Makkah.

Radio Nigeria reports that, the pilgrims arrived healthy and with their 8kg hand luggages and 46kg bags.
