Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced a strategic partnership with a Saudi-based foundation in Makkah to provide free eye care services to pilgrims from the state.

The Director-General of the Board, Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo, disclosed this in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

He said the initiative is aimed at improving the health and well-being of Jigawa pilgrims during their stay in the Holy Land.

Labbo emphasized that his priority is to continually introduce programmes that directly benefit pilgrims and enhance their welfare throughout the Hajj exercise.

The DG noted that, the collaboration between the board and the foundation is aimed at providing comprehensive free eye care services, including cataract surgeries and medication to all pilgrims from the state.

Radio Nigeria Correspondent reports that in 2025, Labbo also initiated free eye care services with Saudi hospital to the state pilgrims which recorded tremendous success in Makkah.
