The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kaduna State has announced the results of its Senatorial District primary elections, producing candidates for the 2027 general elections as the party continues to strengthen its position within the opposition coalition.

The results were unveiled at a press conference in Kaduna by the Chairman of the Kaduna State Primary Elections Committee, Dr. Ladan Salihu, who said the exercise was conducted successfully across the state.

Dr. Ladan Salihu explained that the party had earlier concluded its presidential and governorship primaries, while the latest announcement covered the Senatorial District, House of Representatives, and selected State House of Assembly primary elections.

He stated that all aspirants declared winners had been duly elected in accordance with the party’s guidelines and would represent the ADC in the 2027 general elections.

“This is to certify that all aspirants contained in this release are duly elected as winners of the various primary elections. They are consequently declared as candidates of the African Democratic Congress for the 2027 elections,” he said.

On Kaduna North Senatorial District primary elections results (Zone One), the Returning Officer Ibrahim Sidi Bamalli announced that Senator Khalid Ibrahim Mustafa Soba emerged as the ADC candidate after polling 83,070 votes in an uncontested primary.

In Kaduna Central Senatorial District (Zone Two), Returning Officer Mr. Abdullahi Chiromawa declared Senator Lawal Adamu Usman the winner after securing 47,488 votes unopposed.

For Kaduna South Senatorial District (Zone Three), Returning Officer Murtala Abubakar disclosed that two aspirants contested the primary election. Aminchi Abu polled 5,299 votes, while Godfrey Ali Gaya secured 28,378 votes to emerge as the party’s senatorial candidate for the district.

Dr. Ladan Salihu said the successful conduct of the primaries demonstrates its readiness for the 2027 general elections and reflects the party’s commitment to internal democracy and transparent candidate selection processes.

Party officials expressed confidence that the newly elected candidates would strengthen the ADC’s chances at the polls as preparations for the elections gather momentum across Kaduna State.
