The Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation has called on Nigerians to embrace the spirit of sacrifice, unity, peace, and tolerance as Muslims across the country celebrate the Eid-ul-Kabir festival.

In a Sallah message signed by the Director General of the Foundation, Abubakar Gambo Umar, the foundation said the holy festival serves as a reminder of the exemplary sacrifice and obedience of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) to Allah.

The Foundation noted that the lesson of sacrifice should inspire Nigerians to commit themselves to selfless service, national development, and the overall betterment of their communities.

It also urged citizens to promote peaceful and harmonious coexistence irrespective of faith, ethnicity, or regional differences, stressing the need for tolerance and mutual understanding among Nigerians.

The statement further called on Nigerians to refrain from bad behaviour, avoid shedding innocent blood, uphold justice, and remain law-abiding in order to sustain peace and progress in the country.

The Foundation prayed for Almighty Allah to accept the sacrifices of the faithful, forgive their shortcomings, and bless Nigeria with enduring peace, stability, and prosperity.

“Barka da Sallah,” the statement concluded.
