Niger State Police Command has deployed six thousand four hundred and ten policemen to provide water tide security before during and after the Eid el Kabir celebration in the state.
Commissioner of Police in charge of Niger state, Adamu Abdullahi Elleman stated this while addressing Newsmen at the Dutsen kura police headquarters in Minna, on the level of their preparedness for a hitch free Eid el Kabir celebrations.
Adamu Abdullahi Elleman explained that of the number one thousand nine hundred and twenty seven were senior officers, two thousand seven hundred and twenty Inspectors and one thousand seven hundred and sixty eight rank and file otherwise known as Junior Officers.
On areas considered as flash points, the Commissioner of Police in charge of Niger stste, said they have made adequate provision to nip in the bud cases of security challenges in such areas through the deployment of armed security policemen to patrol those areas, with a view to promote peaceful coexistence in parts of the state.
Similarly he said adequate security personnel
have also been drafted to the mosques, Eid prayer grounds, recretional centres motor parks and markets to ensure that Adamu Eid ei celebration, and called on the people of Niger state to always provide police with useful security information, while assuring them that their identity will be protected.
Adamu Abdullahi Elleman however reminded the people of Niger state that ban on the use of firearms is still in force, also advised people living in remote villages to relocate to cities to celebrate the Eid el Kabir with their family, friends and loved one’s, and assured them of the commitment and resolve of Niger state Police Command in the protection of their lives and properties.
