Governor Dauda Lawal has called on residents of Zamfara State to remain law-abiding, peaceful, and united as Muslims across the world celebrate Eid-el-Kabir.

The Governor made the appeal shortly after observing the Eid prayer at the Gusau Eid Ground, where he joined thousands of worshippers in marking the Islamic festival of sacrifice.

Speaking to journalists, Lawal described Eid-el-Kabir as a period of sacrifice, devotion, and reflection for Muslims globally, noting that, Zamfara State is not left out in the significance of the celebration.

“My appeal to the people of Zamfara State is to be law-abiding and to continue to pray for goodness and peace in the state,” the governor said.

The governor also emphasized the need for the youths to conduct themselves in good manner during the festivities, cautioning against any form of disorder that could disrupt the celebrations.

Governor Lawal, who reiterated his commitment to peace, also called on political leaders and elites to promote unity and set good examples for citizens.

“We should all be united. We are one people. Political leaders must also encourage others to obey the law so that everything will be seamless,” he said.

He further wished Muslims a successful Eid celebration and prayed for their safety as they travel across the country.

Governor Dauda Lawal further urged continued prayers for lasting peace in Zamfara State and Nigeria at large.
