The Kano State Ministry of Education has announced the commencement of the Eid-el-Kabir holiday for all public and private primary and secondary schools across the state.

In a statement issued by the Ministry’s Director of Public Enlightenment, Misbahu Yakasai, boarding school students are to proceed on holiday from Saturday, May 23, 2026, and are expected to resume on Sunday, May 31, 2026.

The statement added that day school students will begin their holiday from Friday, May 22, 2026, and resume academic activities on Monday, June 1, 2026.

The Ministry urged parents and guardians to ensure they pick up their children on the closing dates and return them promptly on the scheduled resumption dates.

In his message, the Commissioner for Education, Ali Makoda, congratulated students, teachers, parents, and the entire education community on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir, wishing them a peaceful and joyous celebration.
