‎Seventeen members of the House of Representatives have defected from the African Democratic Congress to the Nigeria Democratic Congress.

The defections were announced during plenary presided over by the Deputy Speaker, Benjamin Kalu, who read a letter conveying the lawmakers’ decisions on the floor of the House.

Among those who defected are the Deputy Minority Whip, George Ozodinobi, Uchenna Harris, Lilian Orogbu, Peter Uzokwe, Emeka Idu, and Afam Ogene from Anambra State.

Others are Oluwaseyi Sowunmi, Thaddeaus Attah, George Oluwande, and Jesse Okey-Joe from Lagos State.

Also among the defectors are Yusuf Umar Datti, Sani Adamu, Muktar Zakari, and Kamilu Ado from Kano State, as well as Murphy Osaro from Edo State and Munachim Umezuruike from Rivers State.
