The Kanwan Katsina and District Head of Ketare, Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara, has congratulated three newly turbaned District Heads in the Katsina Emirate, North-West Nigeria, describing their appointments as well-deserved and meritorious.

 

The newly appointed traditional leaders are Alhaji Ahmed Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, who was turbaned as Dan Majen Katsina and District Head of Dankama, Alhaji Muhammadu Dikko Radda, now Gwagwaren Katsina and District Head of Radda; and Alhaji Abubakar Dardisu, turbaned as Sarkin Mudurun Katsina and District Head of Muduru.

 

Speaking shortly after the turbaning ceremony at the Emir’s Palace, Kofar Soro, Katsina, Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara urged the appointees to dedicate themselves to the development of their respective districts and the overall progress of the emirate.

 

He described the new Sarkin Muduru, Alhaji Abubakar Dardisu, as a seasoned technocrat who served in the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs for 35 years before retirement.

 

He added that Dardisu is also a Member of the National Institute (mni), having attended the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, Jos.

 

Kankara further noted that the Dan Majen Katsina and District Head of Dankama is the son of the Emir of Katsina, Alhaji (Dr.) Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, and currently serves with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Kaduna Branch.

 

He also stated that the new Gwagwaren Katsina and District Head of Radda is the son of the Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda.

 

Dignitaries at the ceremony included the Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, the Governor of Kano State, Malam Abba Kabir Yusuf, the Deputy Governor of Katsina State, Malam Faruk Lawal Jobe, the Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly, Alhaji Nasir Yahaya Daura; as well as several traditional title holders from the Katsina and Daura Emirates.

 

Also in attendance were members of Course 41 of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), colleagues of the District Head of Muduru, alongside other guests from across the country.

 

Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara, who is also a Member of the National Institute (mni) from Course 35, expressed delight at the emergence of a fellow mni, Alhaji Abubakar Dardisu, as District Head of Muduru.

 

He further commended the Katsina State Governor and the Emir of Katsina for the establishment of six new districts in the emirate, describing the move as a significant step toward strengthening traditional institutions and enhancing grassroots administration.
