Dr Balarabe noted that, the consensus arrangement was reached following extensive consultations with critical stakeholders across the state including the party elders and leaders at all levels in line with the APC constitution and guidelines governing the exercise.

“This decision reflects maturity and discipline. It affirms that unity remains the foundation of political success,” she said, before putting the motion to a voice vote, which received overwhelming support from delegates.

By the authority vested in her as chairman of the congress committee, Balarabe formally declared the listed officials as duly elected members of the APC State Executive Committee in Zamfara.

Among those announced as elected were Hon. Kabiru Moyi Birnin Magaji as State Chairman, Hon. Sani Musa Tureta/Marafa as Deputy Chairman, and Ibrahim Danmaliki Gidan Goga as State Secretary.

Others include Babangida Jekada Tsafe as Assistant State Secretary, Kabiru Musa Agege as Zonal Vice Chairman (Central), Ibrahim Dangaladima Birnin Magaji as Zonal Vice Chairman (North), Alhaji Hassan Damri as Zonal Vice Chairman (West), and Barrister Samaila Mainasara as State Legal Adviser among others.

She charged the new leadership to prioritise unity, teamwork, and inclusiveness, warning against factionalism within the party.

According to her, the strength of the party will not lie in individual offices, but in their ability to act together, speak with one voice, and carry all members along, adding that division could weaken party structures and undermine electoral success.

Looking ahead to the 2027 general elections, Dr Balarabe urged the new executives to intensify grassroots mobilisation and strengthen party structures across wards, local government areas, and zones.

She also acknowledged stakeholders’ endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal for a second term, stressing that such confidence must be matched with commitment, engagement, and sustained political mobilisation.

In a remark, Governor Dauda Lawal described the Congress as timely and strategic, noting that, it marks a critical step toward consolidating party structures and strengthening internal democracy.

According to Lawal, the process of electing, affirming, and inaugurating the party leaders was essential in reinforcing the credibility, transparency, and legitimacy of the APC at the grassroots level.

Lawal expressed appreciation to the national leadership of the party for its continued guidance and commitment to democratic principles, while also commending the Congress Committee led by the Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, for exhibiting professionalism and integrity in conducting the exercise.

“This exercise is about strengthening the foundation upon which we will build a more cohesive, responsive, and forward-looking APC in Zamfara State,” the governor said.

He called for greater internal cohesion and inclusiveness within the party, urging members to avoid actions that could create division and instead embrace initiatives that promote collective success.

Dr Dauda Lawal urged the newly elected officials to see their positions as a call to service and accountability.

Earlier, the newly elected Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State, Kabiru Moyi Birnin Magaji, pledged to prioritise unity, reconciliation, and grassroots mobilisation to position the party for victory in the 2027 general elections.

Moyi expressed appreciation to party stakeholders for the confidence reposed in him and other members of the new executive, stressing that, the responsibility placed on the new leadership requires dedication, sacrifice, and renewed commitment to the ideals of the APC, especially at a time when the party must consolidate its internal structure.

Kabiru Moyi acknowledged the challenges ahead, particularly the need to strengthen unity and internal democracy within the party.

“We are fully aware of the challenges before us, especially the urgent need to strengthen unity and reposition our great party for electoral success,” he stated.

Moyi assured party members that the new executive would immediately embark on wide consultations and reconciliation efforts across wards, local governments, and zones in the state.

“In the coming days, we shall engage in broad consultations, reconciliation, and strategic mobilisation to consolidate our structures and prepare effectively for the 2027 general elections,” he added.
