The Nigerian Army says it will continue to provide requisite support and guidance in facilitating projects aimed at having direct bearing on the people.

General Officer Commanding One division, Major General Abubakar Sadiq Wase gave the assurance while commissioning a newly constructed block of three classrooms at Local Government Primary School, Barakallahu in Igabi LGA of Kaduna State.

Major General Abubakar Sadiq Wase noted that the Army remain committed to supporting host communities, stressing that security could not be achieved through kinetic operations alone.

Represented by Brigadier General Timothy Opurum, the GOC pointed out investment in education would reinforce national security, ensure lasting peace and sustain mutual trust.

Major General Wase called on residents of Barakallahu to make judicious use of the structure for the benefit of present and future pupils.

Earlier in his remarks, the Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli who expressed delight over the gesture, described education as the bedrock of a successful society.

The Emir, who was represented by the district head of Rigachikun, Alhaji Ibrahim Zubairu observed that educated communities record little or no criminal activities and social vices.

Ambassador Ahmad Bamalli therefore called on other Institutions to give back to the society through the provision of basic social amenities to communities.

In her remarks, the headmistress of the school, Malama Asiya Yusuf expressed gratitude to the Nigerian Army for the intervention, noting that it would improve teaching and learning in the school.

She also appealed for the donation of ICT gadgets to the school to enable the pupils have access to modern technology.

The project is in line with the civil-military approach of the Nigerian Army to community development through the provision of basic social amenities, aimed at addressing security threats across various communities.
