The Senate has confirmed the nomination of presidential nominee, Lamido Abubakar Yuguda for appointment as a deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria-CBN.
Presenting the report of the screening exercise, the chairman Senate committee on Banking, Insurance and other financial institutions, Senator Abiru Mikhail said the nominee qualified for the job.
He said the nominee satisfied the security checks without any hitches and informed the Senate that Yuguda was suitable for the position by virtue of his knowledge and work experience over the years and in line with section 8 sub section one of the CBN act.
According to him, the nominee impressively displayed his enormous financial and monetary knowledge during screening exercise and urged the Senate to approve his appointment as Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria.
However, Senator Danjuma Goje, seconded the motion for Yuguda’s confirmation, saying President Bola Tinubu made the right choice on the appointment.
In his remarks, the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio described him as Square peg in a square hole and also thanked President Tinubu for the very suitable choice.
