The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has held a stakeholders’ meeting to finalize arrangements for the airlift of intending pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.

In his speech, the Director-General of the board, Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo, explained that the state has completed approximately seventy percent of its preparations.

He pointed out that, the board has already distributed travelling kits to the intending pilgrims.

Alhaji Umar Labbo commended Governor Umar Namadi for his support, adding that the board’s operational model is being recognized and adopted by other states and the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

Radio Nigeria reports that the meeting included high-level representation from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), with the Zonal Coordinator for Kano, Jigawa, and Katsina, Alhaji Muhammad Umar Kalgo, in attendance.

Alhaji Muhammad Umar Kalgo commended Jigawa State for its proactive and timely preparations, highlighting its adherence to established timelines.

Kalgo also assured that NAHCON will conduct final inspections of all arrangements before the airlift of the state’s pilgrims.

The Managing Director of Umza Airline said that the airlifting of pilgrims will begin on 4th May, with flights scheduled for 8:30 p.m.
