Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has called for stronger global collaboration and sustained investment in science and healthcare systems to promote healthier societies.

In a message to mark the World Health Day 2026, the First Lady noted that this year’s theme, “Together for Health. Stand with Science,” underscores the critical role of innovation and partnerships in advancing global health outcomes.

She said scientific cooperation across nations and sectors has continued to help humanity overcome major health challenges, while also guiding efforts towards improved well-being.

The First Lady highlighted the significance of the One Health approach, which recognises the interconnection between human, animal, plant and environmental health.

She urged governments, organisations and individuals to support science-driven initiatives, strengthen health systems and promote collective action in addressing health challenges.

Mrs Tinubu expressed optimism that through sustained collaboration, the global community can build a healthier and more resilient world for all.
