The Plateau State Government has concluded arrangements to receive President Bola Tinubu, who is expected to visit the state on a condolence mission following recent attacks in parts of Jos.

Governor Caleb Mutfwang will lead top government officials and stakeholders to formally receive the President upon his arrival.

The visit is aimed at commiserating with affected families, assessing the security situation, and reaffirming the Federal Government’s commitment to restoring lasting peace in the state.

President Tinubu is expected to depart Abuja for Jos shortly after receiving the President of Chad, Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno, who is currently on an official visit to Nigeria.

Recent attacks in some communities in Plateau State have led to loss of lives and displacement of residents, drawing widespread condemnation from government and stakeholders.

The Federal Government has since deployed additional security personnel to the affected areas, while also engaging community leaders and stakeholders to address the root causes of the crisis.

President Tinubu’s visit is expected to further reinforce these efforts and provide support to victims of the violence.
