The Kano State Agency for Mass Education has launched a statewide training programme to strengthen the capacity of vigilante groups and Hisba personnel through education, public enlightenment, and skills acquisition.

The Executive Secretary of the Agency, Dr. Binta Abubakar, disclosed this during a courtesy visit by a Social Media Team to her office.

She explained that education, awareness campaigns, and self-reliance training form the core pillars of the Agency’s mandate.

According to her, the initiative is designed to equip community-based security actors with knowledge and practical skills that will enhance their effectiveness and promote social harmony.

Dr. Binta Abubakar also called for stronger collaboration with key stakeholders, particularly the Social Media Team, noting that partnerships are critical to expanding the reach and impact of the Agency’s programmes across Kano State.

She reaffirmed her commitment to ensuring that mass education initiatives reach all parts of the state, pledging sustained efforts to improve access to learning opportunities for residents at all levels.

In his remarks, the leader of the Social Media Team, Rislanu Muhiyi Junaid, said the visit was aimed at fostering collaboration and supporting the promotion of the Agency’s activities.

He highlighted the important role of social media in raising awareness and educating the public.

Rislanu Muhiyi Junaid added that both the Agency and the Social Media Team share a common objective of enlightening citizens and driving meaningful community development.
