The Kano State Government has reiterated its commitment to infrastructural development as part of efforts to position the state on a global standard.

The Commissioner for Ministry of Public Procurement and Project Monitoring, Nura Ma’aji, stated this shortly after inspecting ongoing projects across four local government areas in the state.

According to him, the ministry assessed 10 developmental projects across Nasarawa, Tarauni, Ungogo, and Fagge local government areas, with a total contract value of ₦14,833,293,115.90.

He explained that the projects inspected include the reconstruction of five major garden parks located along Ahmadu Bello Way, Lodge Road, Hospital Road, and other key routes.

“The team also inspected the ongoing dualisation of a major carriageway from Dakata to Bela town”.

Ma’aji noted that during the inspection exercise, ministry officials engaged with contractors at various project sites, while experts assessed the quality and progress of work.

He further revealed that a similar inspection conducted last month covered 14 projects across nine local government areas, reflecting significant government investment in infrastructure.

According to him, the 14 projects have a cumulative contract sum of ₦50,318,020,393, with ₦15,636,393,500.73 allocated to building infrastructure and ₦34,681,626,510.20 dedicated to civil infrastructure.

The commissioner added that interactions were also held with beneficiary communities to evaluate the impact of the projects and ensure standards are met.

He assured that a comprehensive report of the findings would be presented to the state governor, with a view to ensuring quality assurance and long-term value for the people of Kano State.
