People’s Redemption Party (PRP) has elected Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed as its new National Chairman to lead the affairs of the party for a four-year term.

At its National Executive Council meeting in Abuja, the party also announced the emergence of Mr. Babatunde Alliance as National Vice Chairman, Mr. Sunny Kanu as National Secretary, and Dr. Abdullahi Bayawo as National Treasurer.

Delivering his acceptance speech at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja, the PRP National Chairman, Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, acknowledged the financial challenges facing the party compared to larger political parties and expressed confidence that, with the support of Nigerians and the media, it would ignite a process of genuine change.

Dr. Hakeem also advised the electorate to resist the temptation of selling their votes, stressing that the PRP would continue to uphold its principles and remains a leading party that has stayed true to its values.

He further called on Nigerians to come out en masse to register and vote for the party in the forthcoming general elections to ensure that only credible candidates emerge as winners in the interest of national development.

Speaking during the handover, the outgoing National Chairman, Alhaji Falalu Bello, said the emergence the Dr Hakeem as the party’s national Chairman was a reflection of the party’s collective will to bring the right people who are committed to move the party forward.
