Niger state Government says it is ready to support any initiative aimed at providing peace and security capable of enhancing the much needed development of the state.

State Governor, Mohammed Umar Bago stated this at the national congregational prayers for peace, unity and Devine guidance for Nigeria, organized by the Association of Nigerian Imams held at Central mosque Minna.

Represented by his Deputy, Comrade Yakubu Garba, Governor Bago said prayers will continue to remain as one of the viable option in addressing the current security challenges bedeviling the country.

He however commended members of the Imams Forum in Nigeria for organizing the prayer session which he described as apt and timely.

In his remarks Speaker Niger state House of Assembly, Barrister Abdulmalik Sarkin-daji advised Niger lites to see the current security challenges confronting Niger state as a test from Allah and that with resilience and patient they will overcome such problems.

National President of the Association Sheikh Nasir Muhammad represented by his Deputy I am Muhammad Mustapha said the will continue to offer prayers for peace, security and good governance, until the desired objective is achieved.

Director General Bureau for Religious Affairs Niger state and National Secretary Imams Forum, Sheikh Umar Faruk Abdullahi said Government’s at all level have applied both kinetic and non kinetic approach to fight banditry but did not work, hence the need for prayers to overcome such challenges.
