The Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas has charged corps members posted to serve in the state to be ready to receive a thorough and comprehensive orientation course packaged by the scheme to tackle the challenges of Nation building that lie ahead.
Kefas made this statement during the official opening and swearing-in ceremony of the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream I Orientation Course held at the NYSC permanent orientation camp Sibre in Ardo-Kola local government area of the State.
Represented by the Chief of staff government house administration, Dr Jeji Williams, Kefas highlighted his administration’s commitment to youth empowerment, stating that it places a high premium on youth development and acknowledged the crucial role of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme in nation-building.
He urged the corps members to live up to expectations, noted that their predecessors had contributed significantly to improving the quality of life in rural areas, and expressed confidence in the corps members’ potential to drive positive change.
Speaking earlier,the NYSC state coordinator,Mr. Ella Aji Williams while commending the state governor for always providing security and welfare to the scheme, urged corps members posted to serve in the state to participate in all camp activities.
He therefore called on them to use the opportunity to acquire economic skills which will compliment their academic qualification and ultimately make them self-reliant and more marketable at the end of their service year.
